From: Even though Microsoft Outlook makes it easy to coordinate meetings with other Microsoft Exchange Server users, there is no built-in mechanism for maintaining a central calendar. I have done it in a different way. But it's the same idea. I know that the public folders can have email address and this is how i did it.
I create the public calendar from and exchange admin account. Then I go into the exchange system manager on the exchange server to enable email on the folder. It will create and email address by default with exchange 2000. My question comes after this. When i set an appointment and invite the [email protected] to join a meeting it was sent but it did not add the meeting request on the public calendar. I got an email that come back to me from postermaster saying email was delay. Why is it returning a postmaster message?
Is it because it does not have a real mailbox? How can i make it so that it will automatically accept the inviting if there is a way to make it work? Thank you JL. If you have the e-mail address correct, you shouldn't get a delay message from postmaster.
Try the method described below to verify that you have the correct e-mail address. The public calendar appointments are not 'accepted' or 'rejected'.they just appear there. Someone could go into it and 'accept' or 'reject' them.but there is no need to.

If the meeting requires modification, you are better off doing the modification on the public calendar and sending out the update from there.

Otherwise, there is an issue with meeting updates. It will send the public calendar an updated meeting notice, but the original one will stay on the calendar. It's just an issue with using e-mail addresses on folders. Again, that's yet another reason to setup a seperate mailbox, rather than using the public folders.
